Early September 2026 Phone Accessory News: IFA Berlin Brings Cooler Qi2 Banks, Semi‑Solid‑State Power, and Smarter Chargers

Qi2 hits 25W—and now it runs cooler

Ugreen’s new MagFlow lineup centers on Qi2 25W magnetic wireless charging and tackles heat with an active cooling design in its flagship MagFlow Pro magnetic power bank. That means faster top‑ups with less thermal throttling—especially useful for video capture and navigation. Belkin goes semi‑solid‑state for slimmer, tougher banks

Belkin introduced ultra‑slim power banks using semi‑solid‑state cells, pairing Qi2 magnetic wireless charging with compact designs and improved cycle life. Models shown at IFA include options with wired fast charging and pass‑through power, with early September availability and accessible price points. Standards watch: what’s next for wireless charging

Qi2 25W adoption is accelerating in 2026, and the Wireless Power Consortium has been discussing a path toward higher‑wattage Qi2 (up to 50W) in recent working meetings—signals that faster certified wireless charging is on the horizon. Travel & safety update for power banks

• Flying soon? The FAA’s PackSafe guidance (updated August 11, 2026) reiterates that spare lithium batteries and power banks must go in carry‑on baggage only. Avoid packing damaged or recalled units. ([faa.gov](https://www.faa.gov/hazmat/packsafe/lithium-batteries?utm_source=openai))
• Recall reminder: CPSC re‑announced a portable MagSafe power bank recall earlier this year following a serious incident. Always check your model against current recall lists before you travel. What this means if you’re shopping now

• If you rely on magnetic wireless charging, prioritize Qi2‑certified 25W gear—especially models with active cooling—to maintain speed during hot‑running tasks like maps and camera work. ([androidcentral.com](https://www.androidcentral.com/accessories/power-charging/stay-frosty-ugreens-magflow-lineup-keeps-things-cool-with-speedy-qi2-25w-charging?utm_source=openai))
• Need pocketable power that lasts longer? Semi‑solid‑state power banks are emerging as a thinner, more durable alternative without giving up speed. ([techradar.com](https://www.techradar.com/phones/phone-accessories/belkin-has-announced-two-super-slim-semi-solid-state-power-banks-and-weve-already-had-an-early-look-at-them?utm_source=openai))
• Look for chargers that advertise battery‑health features (adaptive current, device recognition) to extend your phone’s long‑term capacity. ([9to5toys.com](https://9to5toys.com/2026/09/03/anker-debuts-new-display-chargers-ifa-2026/?utm_source=openai))
• Traveling with a power bank this fall? Verify it’s airline‑compliant and not subject to a recall before you head to the airport. ([faa.gov](https://www.faa.gov/hazmat/packsafe/lithium-batteries?utm_source=openai))
